About

I’ve spent my career building and transforming schools as a teacher, school founder, principal, and senior leader in some of the country’s most respected education organizations.

In 2002, I founded The Crossroads School, a public charter middle school in Baltimore, Maryland. During my five years as principal, Crossroads became one of the highest performing middle schools in Baltimore City and a national model for student-engaged assessment, positive school culture, and data-based leadership.

I spent over a decade at EL Education, ultimately serving as Chief Schools Officer and overseeing a national network of 160 schools, 4,000 teachers, and 50,000 students across the country.

For the past several years, I’ve worked independently, partnering with schools, districts, charter management organizations, nonprofits, and philanthropies on the design, strategy, and leadership work that transformation actually requires.

With Latitude Education I provide grounded consulting and deep coaching to the leaders and organizations reimagining what school can be.
